Select Career: Casting Director
List 5 things about this career that you find appealing.
1. I get to present new ideas about casts
2. I get to advise people which cast they should use
3. I love to read the scripts for different plays.
4. I get to keep record of the people who have auditioned for the part.
5. I get to listen to the read-through of the script by the cast.
What is the Skills Score that appears beside the career you selected?
Look through you responses to the skills that are important for this career and add up the number of responses of each type:
__1___I am highly skilled
___6__I am skilled
___6__I have some skill
___0__I don't have this skill

Write down the three skills to which you answered "I don't have this skill" or "I have some skill." For each skill you wrote down, think of three ways that you can increase your skill.
1. Planning- I could think of ways to make the plans I have a little better and more appealing.
2. Evaluating- I shouldn't judge people just by the way that they present something.
3. Presenting Ideas and Information in Writing- I shouldn't get so nervous when I present something to a important person.
Are your still interested in the career you selected for this activity? Why or why not?
Yes because I get to work with the theatre or acting group. I also get to be involved with movies or tv shows.
What do you think the difference is between interests and skills?
Interests are what you are interested in and your skills are what you are good at. What you think you can do good in.
Do you think it is helpful to consider your skills when choosing a career? Why or why not?
Yes because if you can't do a certain job or skill. Say you don't work good with computers and you want to be a computer game designer, you won't be able to do it because you do not work good with the computer.

My Charcter

Learning Objective-Describe your character in terms of character qualities.
Definitions
Character: The personal qualities and features that guide our decisions, tell of the kind of person we are, and keep us steady in a life of compromising tremors.
Self-discovery: To know ourselves better; learning about ourselves.
Video Debriefing
If your friends, family and teachers were asked to describe your character, what would they say?
I think that my teachers would describe me as a hard working student, only when she wants to. My friends would say that I'm loud and funny but sometimes i can get a little too emotional. My parents would say that I'm a good student and a good person, i care a lot about my family and no one disresepects them. I can be your friend but i can be your enemy too.
Discuss & Reflect
Who would you say is a "person of character?" What positive character qualities does this person posses? What choices has this person made in the past that illustrate character?
My mother would be a "person of character." She is humble and caring towards everything that she does. She does not judge me when i ask her a question. I go to her for most of my problems because she can always find me a solution. Thats why i choose my mother for the Person of Character.
Get Go
Ask your friends, family and teachers, how they would describe your character. Do their responses match with what you thought they would say?
My Character
Friends- They think I'm funny but sometimes I can get a little crazy and a little annoying, but they can always come to me for help if they need it.
Family-My family thinks I'm just plain out weird, but they do still love me. I will be the one who tells a joke and be the only laughing, Or just start quoting one-liners from movies, because thats just how i am with my family.
Teachers-My teachers may somtimes think i get distracted with my best friend in the room. Honestly when it gets down the the nitty gritty I will do my work and I try to do my best in everything that I do.

Letter To Me

Marissa,

I wish I would have known what I know now when I was a Freshman in high school. Enjoy the days that you have with your friends and never settle for the least. You walked down the stage and got your diploma as your parents watched and cried. You have a great time in your college years and you find yourself a great guy but in the end it doesn't work the way you want it to. So you keep going with school and get a great job as a physical therapist and find a great husband and have one kid. So you find that all the things you did as a teen made everything worth wild.

Sincerely,
Marissa
